FAQs

Pondview Inspections LLC

  • What is included in a Pondview Inspections standard home inspection?

Our comprehensive inspection covers all major home systems, including the foundation, roofing, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC. We also examine the attic, crawlspaces, and visible structural components. Following the walk-through, you will receive a detailed digital report from our home inspection company with photos and explanations of any findings to help you make an informed decision.
  • Do I really need an inspection if I'm buying a newer home or a "flipped" house?

Yes. Even brand-new homes can have structural oversights or installation errors. In "flipped" houses, aesthetic upgrades sometimes mask underlying issues with older plumbing or electrical systems. An objective third-party inspection from a home inspection company ensures that the "bones" of the house are as high-quality as the finishes.
  • Should I be present during the inspection?

Our home inspection company highly recommends it! While not required, being there allows you to walk through the home with the inspector. This is a great opportunity to ask questions, see exactly where issues might be, and learn about the maintenance requirements of your specific property.
  • How do environmental tests (radon, water, air quality) differ from a standard inspection?

A standard inspection from a home inspection company is a visual assessment of the structure and systems. Environmental testing uses specialized equipment to detect invisible hazards like Radon gas, lead in water, or mold spores in the air. Given the geology and age of many homes in Fairfield County, these tests provide an essential extra layer of protection for your family.
  • How long after the inspection will I receive my report?

Our home inspection company understands that time is of the essence during the contingency period. You can typically expect to receive your full, easy-to-read digital report within 24 hours of the inspection's completion.
